We’re excited to share a major milestone in the H-PASS project — our very first onsite training session, held as part of the Hungarian pilot on April 11, organized by the National Directorate General for Hospitals and co-organized by the Semmelweis University Health Services Management Training Centre.

28 enthusiastic participants came together for a full day of learning, sharing, and connecting. The program focused on essential themes such as communication, teamwork, task shifting, and generational collaboration in healthcare. These topics sparked rich discussions, with participants contributing diverse insights drawn from their everyday professional experiences.

A highlight of the day was a session on generations and conflict, where we explored how differences in age and perspective influence teamwork and collaboration. Through group work and guided discussion, it became clear that while generational differences play a role, they are just one of many factors affecting cooperation in healthcare.

One of the most powerful takeaways? That these differences shouldn’t be seen as barriers—but rather as tools we can use intentionally to strengthen collaboration and mutual understanding.

Throughout the day, it was inspiring to witness how quickly participants connected and how openly they engaged in dialogue. The blend of structured activities, group exercises, and informal conversations created a dynamic learning environment full of “aha” moments and meaningful exchanges.

The goal of the training is not necessarily to teach everything about digitalisation and collaboration in this context. The professionals we work with in this course are experienced practitioners who naturally bring with them valuable knowledge and insights—often in areas we, as developers and facilitators of the training, do not possess.

It’s encouraging to see that within the learning environment we’ve created, and through the materials we offer, participants are able to identify and build on the elements most relevant to them. These lead to constructive conversations between representatives of different healthcare professions and institutions, sparking inspiration both from the content and from each other.

So far, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

This session marks a significant step forward for the H-PASS project. We’re proud of the foundation we’ve built together—and excited to continue this journey in the months ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to all participants for your active engagement, openness, and contributions.
