The H-PASS consortium came together in Budapest on February 3-4, 2025, for an impactful two-day meeting at Semmelweis University Health Services Management Training Centre. The meeting, organized by OKFŐ, was a crucial moment in our journey towards delivering a flexible, effective, and innovative healthcare training program across Europe.

Day 1: Reflecting on the Prototype Training and Country-Specific Adaptations

The first day of the meeting was packed with discussions and reflections on the English Prototype Training. The consortium reviewed the lessons learned, particularly focusing on the four modules that will form the core of the H-PASS training program. Module 1 on Leading Digital Transformation and Module 2 on Communication, Teams, and Culture were explored in depth, with feedback on how to improve the content and delivery.

An important session focused on the country plans, where all partners shared their strategies for adapting the training program to their local contexts. This step is crucial in ensuring that the H-PASS training program is not only scalable across Europe but also tailored to address specific national healthcare needs and workforce challenges.

The day concluded with an engaging working dinner, where the team reflected on the pilot implementation process and discussed the next steps. The atmosphere was one of collaboration, excitement, and forward momentum.

Day 2: Adapting for Success – Translation, Online Tools, and VR Testing

Day 2 of the meeting focused on the translation and adaptation of the training materials, ensuring that they are culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate for all partner countries. The online learning tools, including LearnDash, H5P, and Synthesia, were explored to assess their suitability for delivering high-quality, interactive learning experiences.

One of the highlights of Day 2 was the VR testing workshop, where consortium members had the chance to explore and test virtual reality (VR) technology for training purposes. The immersive training tools provide a hands-on, engaging way for healthcare professionals to practice new skills and techniques in a safe, controlled environment. This approach is expected to enhance the learning experience and improve the retention of critical skills.

The day wrapped up with discussions on sustainability and how to ensure the long-term impact of the H-PASS project. Guidelines for national online stakeholder meetings were reviewed, and a feedback session was held to ensure that everyone was aligned on the future steps for the project.

Looking Ahead: Finalizing the Pilot Phase and Next Steps

As the consortium prepares to finalize the pilot implementation, the energy and enthusiasm of the team were palpable throughout the meeting. With the lessons learned and insights gained during these two days, the H-PASS project is more than ready to move forward with a robust, adaptable, and impactful healthcare training program that will empower healthcare professionals across Europe.
